Job description

Role overview

Prospa is hiring a Head of Creative Strategy to lead the creative direction for its e-commerce and paid social work. The position can be based in the London or Manchester office and comes with a salary starting at £60,000. This is a key leadership role for someone who wants to shape a creative function from the ground up and help scale high-growth DTC brands through performance-led marketing.

The company has spent the last five years building a specialist e-commerce team and now supports more than 40 direct-to-consumer brands. Its focus is on helping 7- and 8-figure e-commerce businesses improve growth and profitability through creative that is designed to perform. The broader agency includes dedicated teams for Paid Social, Paid Search, and Retention, and creative is becoming an increasingly important part of that growth model.

As the first Head of Creative, you will define the structure, standards, and processes of the creative department. You will also help build a team around you, work closely with senior leaders, and ensure the creative output supports client performance goals. The business is growing quickly across Manchester and London, with a hybrid working setup and a strong emphasis on training, development, and team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Set the creative strategy for paid social channels, including Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, and Pinterest.
  • Develop fresh concepts, angles, hooks, and ad formats using performance insights and best-practice thinking.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Paid Social and the wider team to shape creative testing plans.
  • Maintain a high standard across all creative output, including UGC, static ads, video edits, concept development, and revisions.
  • Build the creative department from the ground up, including team structure, role planning, and hiring priorities.
  • Create clear workflows for briefs, production, editing, approvals, and final delivery.
  • Set up scalable systems such as asset libraries, testing frameworks, and naming conventions.
  • Work hands-on with editors, designers, creators, and copywriters to direct production.
  • Give clear, constructive feedback and provide creative leadership across multiple projects.
  • Lead brainstorms and workshops that generate new ideas and improve output.
  • Partner with the paid social team to align creative work with campaign performance objectives.
  • Review ad data and use findings to recommend improvements to creative direction.
  • Work with account managers to keep creative aligned with client expectations and brand standards.
  • Present creative strategies and supporting reasoning to clients during calls.
  • Translate brand insights, audience research, and positioning into practical creative plans.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a creative leadership position within DTC, e-commerce, paid social, or digital marketing.
  • A strong record of creating ads that perform well on Meta, TikTok, and similar paid platforms.
  • Experience growing creative output through structured systems, workflows, and repeatable processes.
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing and the impact creative has on CAC, AOV, ROAS, CTR, thumb-stop ratio, and related KPIs.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing creative teams, ideally including editors, designers, and content creators.
  • Ability to give clear direction, deliver structured feedback, and uphold a strong creative standard.
  • Confidence taking ownership of the full creative function from strategy through execution.
  • Ability to generate ideas quickly, write UGC scripts, and direct creators effectively.
  • Strong eye for visual storytelling and an understanding of what captures attention and drives conversions.
  • Knowledge of modern content styles, UGC formats, hooks, angles, and short-form video trends.
  • Comfort using tools such as Motion, Air, Adobe Suite, CapCut, and Figma.
  • Strong organisation, project management, and workflow-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use performance data to guide creative decisions.

Perks and benefits

  • Opportunity to join a company that has delivered around 100% year-on-year growth since 2020.
  • 7.5% annual bonus linked to company and team performance.
  • Annual salary reviews, backed by quarterly performance evaluations and clear progression plans.
  • 25 days of annual leave, plus Bank Holidays and your birthday off.
  • A structured progression roadmap from the start of employment.
  • Quarterly reviews to support development across both technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Monthly in-house e-commerce training and quarterly partner-led training with platforms such as Shopify, Triple Whale, Store Hero, and Recharge.
  • Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
  • Exposure to fast-growing DTC brands across fashion, beauty, wellness, and subscription categories.
  • Modern office environment with free parking.
  • Annual budget for industry events to support professional development.
  • Chance to work alongside experienced industry professionals in a fast-moving growth environment.
  • Free coffee and healthy snacks in the office.
