Job description

Opportunity Overview

This role sits within a private equity-backed, market-leading business services organisation that is looking for a senior Corporate Development leader to own its merger and acquisition agenda. The position is suited to a seasoned deal professional who has already delivered acquisitions in the services space and wants to help accelerate growth through strategic transactions.

Working alongside the executive team and investors, you will shape the acquisition pipeline, assess opportunities, and drive deals from initial outreach through to completion in support of the company’s expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the full M&A process from origination through to close, covering sourcing, valuation, financial analysis, due diligence, negotiation, and execution.
  • Set and deliver the company’s acquisition strategy so it aligns with long-term growth goals.
  • Develop and maintain strong connections with founders, advisers, banks, and private equity sponsors to support a healthy deal pipeline.
  • Work closely with senior leadership on strategic evaluations and capital allocation decisions.
  • Contribute to integration planning after acquisitions to help unlock value.
  • Coach and support members of the Corporate Development team, while collaborating with Finance, Operations, and Legal.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced Corporate Development or M&A leader with a strong record of completing complex transactions. The business is particularly interested in someone who has closed acquisitions in the services sector, ideally across blue-collar or field services businesses.

You should bring deep capability in financial modelling, valuation, and commercial due diligence, along with excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Success in a dynamic, fast-moving, high-growth setting is essential.

Preferred Background

  • Experience working in a private equity-backed environment.
  • Exposure to buy-and-build models and post-merger integration.
  • Knowledge of the operating realities of blue-collar services businesses.
  • MBA or an advanced qualification in Finance, Business, or a related area.

Why This Role

This is a chance to join an ambitious, acquisition-led organisation at a pivotal stage of growth. You will play a central role in shaping M&A strategy and creating value with the backing of an experienced leadership team and private equity sponsor.
