Job description
Role overview
We are looking for a Content Director who lives and breathes short-form content and can lead the creative direction for talking-head reels. This person should be deeply plugged into online culture, able to spot emerging formats early, and skilled at turning those observations into strong video concepts.
The role is focused on strategy and creative direction rather than production. You will not be responsible for filming or editing; instead, you will shape ideas, guide execution, and help ensure every piece of content is sharp, current, and high-performing.
What you will do
- Track short-form content trends daily across platforms such as Reels and TikTok, identify formats, hooks, sounds, and memes before they become mainstream, and convert them into ideas for upcoming shoots.
- Develop content concepts for the creator, including topics, hooks, and angles, and strengthen any opening that feels weak.
- Direct the creator on what to film, how to present the idea, and when the delivery needs improvement.
- Guide editors with precise feedback on pacing, cuts, captions, and hook timing, and review every edit before publication.
- Work with writers to refine scripts so the output stays original and avoids generic content.
- Act as the final taste check for content quality, rejecting anything that feels average or off-brand.
What we are looking for
- A deep and active understanding of short-form video, with the ability to explain exactly why a piece of content performed well.
- Proof that you have either created or directed videos that delivered strong results.
- The ability to help editors and writers improve through clear, useful feedback.
- Strong knowledge of the talking-head and personal brand content space, including which creators are winning and why.
- Confidence to discard weak ideas without waiting for approval.
- Flexibility to switch between ideation, directing, script support, and quality control throughout the day.
What this role is not
- This is not an editing position.
- This is not a filming or camera-operator role.
- This is not a social media management role, so it does not involve scheduling, reporting, or community management.
How to apply
Submit your top three videos, whether they are yours or someone else’s, along with a breakdown of each one. Explain what made it work, what held it back, and what could have been improved. The breakdown itself is the interview; a resume is not the focus. If your analysis is limited to general comments like “good hook + trending sound,” this role is likely not the right fit.
