Job description

Role Overview

This is a full-time remote role based in the United States, with San Francisco, CA preferred as the location for periodic in-person events. The compensation for the position is between $110,000 and $170,000 base salary. The hiring company is a fast-growing developer infrastructure startup building a new approach to infrastructure-as-code for the AI era. Its platform helps businesses deploy software and AI agents directly into customer cloud environments so they can access valuable enterprise data. The company has raised $5M in seed funding from leading venture capital firms and angel investors associated with OpenAI, Google, and Databricks, and operates with a lean, high-performing team.

What You Will Do

As Head of Community, you will be responsible for building the developer community from the ground up across online channels and in-person experiences. The role is designed for someone who understands developer audiences deeply, already has strong relationships in the developer tools world, and can turn community momentum into commercial opportunities.

  • Own the planning and execution of developer meetups and hackathons in the San Francisco/Bay Area every two months, handling the full event lifecycle from venue selection to speaker outreach and post-event follow-up.
  • Bring in respected speakers, partners, and co-hosts from the developer infrastructure ecosystem to ensure each gathering delivers strong technical value.
  • Grow and maintain the online community, especially Slack, through genuine engagement and communication that feels authentic rather than overly corporate or promotional.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships across the developer tools ecosystem so the company stays closely connected to builders, startups, and industry conversations.
  • Use community activity, event participation, and online engagement to generate qualified leads and support the sales pipeline.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a practical, self-driven operator who can work independently and thrive in a startup environment with limited structure and resources. You should have strong developer empathy, experience in community-building or field marketing, and the ability to execute quickly and effectively without relying on large budgets or heavy management layers.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base pay of $110,000 to $170,000.
  • A strong early-stage equity package.
  • Remote-first work setup within the United States.
  • A travel budget to support recurring events and meetups in San Francisco.
  • The chance to join an early foundational team with significant ownership and direct access to the founder.

Interview Process

  • A 30-minute introductory discussion with the Founder/CEO to review your background, motivations, and fit.
  • A 90-minute hands-on working session with the Founder/CEO to assess collaboration, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Final alignment review followed by a formal offer if everything matches well.
