Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and visionary leader to oversee the Client Due Diligence function. This role involves strategic leadership and operational management of client onboarding, verification, and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience and a thorough understanding of middle office operations, regulatory compliance, process governance, and client service standards at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and inspire the Client Due Diligence and Middle Office Operations team, promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for client due diligence aligned with regulatory requirements, risk management, and business growth goals.
  • Participate as a senior member in governance committees contributing to risk assessment, audit preparedness, and control improvements.
  • Establish a center of excellence focused on client verification and due diligence by utilizing technology and automation for enhanced accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage comprehensive client due diligence procedures, including onboarding, periodic reviews, and re-validation cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with KYC, AML, sanction screening, and data protection policies across all client segments.
  • Apply advanced risk assessment frameworks to identify, monitor, and reduce operational and compliance risks.
  • Continuously improve due diligence techniques by integrating analytics, AI, and digital workflow solutions.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Risk, and Compliance teams to guarantee a smooth client experience and operational effectiveness.
  • Develop governance protocols, standard operating procedures, and audit processes to maintain process integrity and transparency.
  • Optimize workflows to reduce turnaround times and strengthen controls.
  • Scale due diligence operations effectively through leveraging technology, fostering talent development, and enhancing cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of due diligence experts across locations and operational frameworks.
  • Work with senior leaders in Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to align the due diligence function with organizational objectives.
  • Promote employee engagement, provide training, and support career growth to establish strong leadership succession and domain knowledge.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 12 or more years of experience in Banking, Financial Services, or Fintech sectors, including no less than 5 years in leadership roles overseeing due diligence or middle office functions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance management, KYC/AML framework implementation, and large-scale process transformation projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of client risk profiling, operational risk controls, and regulatory environments.
