Job description

Role overview

A major Irish healthcare organization is planning a substantial capital investment programme over the next three years. The portfolio includes new care homes, supported and independent living developments, and retirement-village style accommodation. The business is looking for a Head of Capital Projects to take ownership of this programme from early-stage concept work through to successful delivery. The role reports directly to the CEO and COO.

What the role involves

  • Managing a pipeline of multiple live projects at the same time, covering feasibility, planning, construction, and final handover.
  • Selecting, coordinating, and directing external design consultants, contractors, and specialist advisors.
  • Taking executive-level accountability for budgets, schedules, and key project milestones.
  • Contributing to the organization’s wider long-term capital development plan.

Experience sought

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in property development, construction, and the delivery of large-scale projects. Previous healthcare sector experience would be advantageous, although it is not essential, as the company already has strong internal clinical and regulatory knowledge.
