Head of Business Development

Position Overview

WM College invites applications for the role of Head of Business Development, a key leadership position dedicated to enhancing the College's financial sustainability, resilience, and community impact over a two-year fixed-term period. Reporting to the Principal, this role will focus on steering the creation, negotiation, and implementation of new income-generating ventures aligned with the College’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for all income generation activities within the College.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities that ensure sustainable growth consistent with the College's educational values.
• Collaborate closely with senior management to manage a pipeline of business initiatives from conception to revenue realization.
• Establish and nurture productive relationships with various stakeholders, including employers, local authorities, cultural entities, and community partners engaged in adult education and lifelong learning.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in crafting and executing business proposals that translate into sustainable income, partnerships, or commercial ventures.
• Skilled in forming and managing external partnerships, adept at negotiation with diverse stakeholders, and creating measurable strategic or financial benefits.
• Strong grasp of commercial risks, due diligence processes, and balancing revenue objectives with organizational mission and reputation.
• Exceptional networking and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Sound financial and commercial insights.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
• Capable of navigating both strategic and operational levels effectively.
• Familiarity with the education, skills, public, voluntary, or cultural sectors is beneficial.
