Role Overview

Based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, the Head of Art is a full-time, on-site leadership position responsible for directing the visual style of all multimedia endeavors, including music, video, and gaming projects. This role involves steering the visual direction, overseeing concept development, managing artists and designers, and collaborating with creative, production, and technical departments to ensure unified and compelling artistic output.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and define the art direction across diverse multimedia projects to ensure aesthetic consistency and quality.
  • Guide concept development and supervise creative teams including artists and designers.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align artistic vision with project goals.
  • Establish and maintain visual standards, review creative assets, and provide insightful feedback to uphold high-quality work.
  • Mentor creative personnel and contribute to educational initiatives such as workshops and training programs.
  • Help shape the studio's long-term visual and creative strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in art direction and visual arts with a portfolio highlighting leadership in multimedia or related areas.
  • Background in educational or creative instruction, including developing curricula for art programs or leading workshops.
  • Knowledge of drama, performance, or storytelling techniques that enhance narrative and character-driven visuals.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with 3D or motion graphics software and multimedia production workflows.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring diverse creative teams, managing multiple projects, and fostering collaboration.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and constructive feedback capabilities supporting a positive and inclusive studio culture.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in music, gaming, or film/TV sectors and a passion for experimental and immersive media are advantageous.
