Role overview
This opportunity is for a Heavy Diesel Fitter to support haulage operations by keeping a large fleet of Kenworth C509 road trains in dependable working order. The equipment includes quad and triple side-tipper combinations fitted with current technology and specifications. The role is located in Weipa, North Queensland.
What you will do
Your core focus will be on routine servicing, attending equipment breakdowns, and carrying out general mechanical repair work.
Work pattern and location
This is a permanent, full-time FIFO position operating on a 2:1 roster with alternating day and night shifts. FIFO travel is available from Brisbane or Cairns, Queensland.

Candidate profile
The company is seeking someone with a recognised Australian Heavy Vehicle mechanical trade qualification or equivalent, a current Australian driver’s licence, and a consistent focus on safety and workmanship. Prior experience with Kenworth T909 and T509 models, Cummins ISX engines, and quad/triple trailer setups is preferred, with Howard Porter or Boomerang experience considered an advantage. Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance abilities are important, along with the capacity to handle physically demanding work. Applicants must also have unrestricted Australian work rights.
