About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and skilled Handyworker to support residential rental properties by assessing listing readiness, performing general repairs, installing lockboxes, and documenting property conditions through photos and videos. This position involves identifying additional maintenance needs to prepare properties for listing, showing, lease signing, or move-in.

The employer partners with landlords to expedite leases, reduce vacancies, and manage every step of the rental process using proprietary technology and multiple platform syndications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit rental properties for assessments related to listing readiness, access validation, repair completion, and move-in preparation.
  • Inspect overall property condition and recommend necessary repairs or improvements affecting readiness and tenant experience.
  • Capture detailed photos and videos of properties, including access points, lockboxes, repairs, and any concerns impacting leasing.
  • Install lockboxes and verify access information accurately.
  • Perform general repairs and light maintenance tasks pertinent to property readiness.
  • Generate work orders for further repairs or improvements when needed.
  • Return to properties to complete approved repair tasks before listing, showings, lease finalization, or tenant move-in.
  • Provide thorough updates with notes, photos, and videos documenting completed work.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with landlords, applicants, tenants, and internal team members.
  • Determine when specialized licensed trades are necessary and escalate accordingly.

Common Tasks May Include

  • Drywall patches and minor wall repairs
  • Caulking and sealing gaps
  • Painting touch-ups
  • Door, lock, hinge, handle, and cabinet repairs
  • Basic plumbing fixes
  • Installation of fixtures, shelves, mirrors, blinds, and hardware
  • Minor flooring, trim, and baseboard repairs
  • Rental turnover and readiness repairs
  • Lockbox installations and access setups
  • Pre-listing, showing, and move-in condition checks

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a handyworker, maintenance technician, contractor, or similar role focused on residential repairs.
  • Strong understanding of rental turnover processes and property readiness standards.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Equipped with necessary tools and ladder on-site.
  • Own a smartphone with a high-quality camera (iPhone 13 or equivalent).
  • Skilled in capturing clear photographic and video documentation of properties and repairs.
  • Ability to write concise notes and submit detailed updates after each site visit.
  • Capable of working autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Professional, punctual, reliable, and detail-oriented work approach.
  • Proficient in respectful communication with landlords, tenants, applicants, and colleagues.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in rental turnover repair work.
  • Experience preparing rental properties for photos, showings, inspections, or move-in.
  • Familiarity with lockbox installations and access confirmations.
  • Comfortable working inside occupied or vacant residential rental units.
  • Previous support roles in leasing, property management, maintenance, or residential services.
