Job description
About JBS Food Canada
JBS Food Canada ULC, employing roughly 3,300 staff, is among the largest beef processors and employers in southern Alberta. The company operates three facilities: its Headquarters and a Case Ready plant in Calgary, and a processing plant in Brooks where approximately 4,200 cattle are processed each day. Products from these facilities include boxed beef primals, ground beef, beef trimmings, by-products, and hides shipped nationally and internationally. At the Mountain Creek Farms case-ready plant in Calgary, value-added items such as marinated and portion-sized meats, multi-pack options, and kebabs are produced.

- Establish and monitor quality standards across production, shipping, receiving, and packaging departments.
- Serve as the primary contact between the plant, external auditors, and regulatory authorities.
- Create documentation to ensure compliance including forms and SOPs, and maintain accurate, comprehensive records for audits.
- Communicate standards and compliance requirements to management and staff.
- Track and achieve objectives and KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Train employees to ensure adherence to safety and quality programs.
- Support lab accreditation processes, update HACCP programs, conduct verifications and re-assessments.
- Conduct record reviews and onsite inspections regularly.
- Collaborate with CFIA Inspectors, Operations, and Quality Assurance to address food safety matters.
- Assist with third-party and regulatory audits, policy and procedure creation, customer complaint handling, testing, and other special projects as assigned.
- Maintain document control, annual reviews of policies and procedures, and provide backup support to QA Technicians.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 3–5 years of HACCP experience in a high-paced food industry environment.
- Relevant post-secondary qualification in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP principles and systems.
- Experience in internal auditing, training, and managing/documenting quality control processes.
- Involvement in internal and external CFIA and GFSI-style audits (such as SQF or BRC).

- Skilled in risk-based quick decision-making and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with strong attention to detail.
