Job description
About hansetherm
hansetherm is a Hamburg-based clean energy startup focused on accelerating the energy transition. The company makes the switch to heat pumps easier and more accessible, offering end-to-end heating solutions as a full-service provider.
To drive growth, demand, and brand strength in a focused way, the team is looking for a highly analytical marketing professional who will work closely with one of the founders and take operational ownership of the growth function.
Role overview
In this role, you will act as a founder’s right hand and take responsibility for growth across marketing and sales. The position is designed for someone who can connect data, execution, and decision-making to improve funnel performance and drive measurable outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Partner closely with one of the founders and lead hansetherm’s growth efforts with a strong focus on marketing and sales.
- Turn insights from sales data, funnel metrics, and market observations into practical growth actions and execute them.
- Focus on results rather than just deliverables, with ownership of conversion signals, lead quality, and micro-conversions across the sales funnel.
- Build reporting structures that make marketing and sales performance clear, actionable, and decision-ready.
- Use AI and automation tools such as Make and Claude to speed up marketing and sales workflows.
- Serve as a direct interface between the founder, sales, BI, external partners, and creative contributors.
What they are looking for
- 2 to 5 years of experience in growth, marketing, or sales within a fast-scaling startup.
- A strongly analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, draw conclusions, and combine that with an understanding of customer psychology.
- Confident Excel skills, with SQL or basic BI knowledge considered a plus.
- Experience in performance marketing, especially Google and Meta, and a solid grasp of funnel thinking.
- Willingness to learn automation tools like Make and Claude, or prior experience using them.
- Motivation to learn quickly through close collaboration with a founder.
- Ability to prioritize strongly and contribute well beyond standard working hours during high-intensity phases.
- Resilience, flexibility, and a willingness to take responsibility outside traditional office times when needed.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, structured way of working, and a high standard for quality.
- Proactive thinking, a habit of spotting gaps early, and a desire to improve things rather than simply create new ones.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- Preference for working on-site in the Hamburg office and a clear comfort with in-office collaboration.
Not a fit if you...
- Need highly detailed instructions and avoid taking responsibility.
- Only want strategic work and do not enjoy hands-on execution.
- Create content without owning its impact.
- Treat creative work and data as completely separate disciplines.
- Do not enjoy direct interaction with sales teams, customers, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Struggle in dynamic environments.
- Prefer to work remotely.
- Avoid practical, operational work.
- Are looking for a classic 9-to-5 role.
What you will get
- A key position in a fast-growing company with a genuine mission tied to the energy transition and heat pumps.
- Direct influence on the company’s growth strategy.
- Close collaboration with leadership and all core teams.
- Flat structures, short decision paths, and plenty of room to shape the role.
- Individual development through training and upskilling opportunities.
- Team events, team lunches, and attractive employee benefits through the company’s benefits platform.
