Job description

Role Overview and Responsibilities

  • Promote safe work practices and set standards for health, safety, and workplace cleanliness; conduct and ensure completion of Standard Operating Techniques (SOT).
  • Develop and maintain positive communication and relationships with employees; assess training needs and provide training for Group Leaders, Engineers, and Associates under supervision.
  • Lead the paint shop team to meet production targets while ensuring adherence to standardized work procedures.
  • Analyze issues related to products and processes, and implement improvements or changes accordingly.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and achieve targets.
  • Facilitate problem-solving initiatives to minimize rework and scrap rates.
  • Use visual management tools to communicate with teams, provide shift briefings centered on quality, cost, and delivery, and solicit improvement suggestions.
  • Manage costs associated with paint shop manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and evaluate environmental issues specific to the paint shop in a timely manner.
  • Oversee and control consumption of utilities such as electricity, air, and water to limit waste in the paint shop.

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience working in the automobile industry with responsibility for managing at least one shift.
  • Conduct operator training on products and processes within the team; manage attendance and adhere to company procedures.
  • Implement absence control procedures to maximize employee attendance.
  • Collaborate with other departmental leaders to resolve technical problems.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
