Job description

Role overview

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished finance operations executive to take charge of a fast-expanding clean energy group’s finance function. Based in Abu Dhabi, the business operates across 12 countries and supports more than 15 million people, so the finance setup needs to be robust, scalable, and able to keep pace with rapid growth.

The position begins as a 6-month interim engagement and may transition into a permanent role depending on business needs and performance.

Key accountabilities

  • Oversee the full spectrum of group finance operations, including payments, treasury, accounts payable and receivable, bookkeeping, and day-to-day financial administration across all entities.
  • Create and roll out finance operating models, standard procedures, and internal control frameworks that can support a high-growth international organisation.
  • Manage financial administration for holding companies in the UAE and Mauritius, as well as operating subsidiaries across Africa and other markets.
  • Take responsibility for group cash management, foreign exchange monitoring, and banking relationships across every operating region.
  • Ensure finance operations remain compliant with obligations under DFI and debt facility agreements, including covenant tracking and drawdown support.
  • Lead the improvement and adoption of the Odoo ERP environment to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and reporting capability.
  • Recruit, guide, and manage a distributed finance operations team working across different locations.
  • Coordinate audits with external auditors and ensure statutory reporting and regulatory submissions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Partner closely with the CEO, Group CFO, finance leadership, and country finance teams to keep operations aligned with wider group objectives.

Candidate profile

The ideal professional will bring more than 15 years of finance operations experience, with substantial exposure to complex international and multi-entity structures. Prior CFO experience, or a background that clearly demonstrates readiness for a CFO-level role, would be a major advantage.

You should have a strong record of designing and scaling finance operations in fast-moving, multi-market businesses, along with deep knowledge of treasury, payments, AP/AR, and financial control environments. Experience with DFIs, development finance institutions, or impact-oriented organisations is a valuable plus.

This role suits someone who is both strategic and highly hands-on, with the ability to shape direction while also getting involved in execution. Experience with ERP platforms is required, and Odoo knowledge would be beneficial. Exposure to African markets, emerging-market FX, or off-grid energy operations is especially desirable.

Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of additional languages would be an added advantage.
