Job description
Overview
A global public limited company headquartered in Dublin is hiring a high-performing qualified chartered accountant to join its finance function as a Group Accounting Senior Manager. This is a fast-moving role for someone with strong technical accounting capability, US GAAP and/or consolidation experience, and a desire to grow professionally in a dynamic environment.
Key responsibilities
- Handle reporting deliverables for the group under both US GAAP and IFRS, covering internal and external needs.
- Prepare the group’s annual report.
- Produce monthly consolidated management information for internal use.
- Offer technical accounting advice and support to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Review the effect of new accounting standards and changes in regulation.
- Work effectively within a robust SOX controls environment.
- Partner with internal teams to refine and improve business processes and systems.
- Contribute to cross-functional workstreams and group projects involving legal, tax, treasury, IT, and finance.
- Support the integration of acquisition targets into the group.
- Assist with statutory financial statements and the associated audit process.
- Mentor and coach more junior colleagues in the group accounting team.
Candidate profile
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with around 4 to 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Currently working at Audit Manager, Audit Senior Manager, or Audit Associate Director level in a Big 4 firm with large corporate client exposure, or in a Group Accounting Manager role in industry seeking faster career progression.
- Strong background in financial accounting and reporting.
- Good working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Solid consolidation experience.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Comfortable managing several deliverables at once.
