Role overview
This full-time, permanent position is for a Fashion Graphic Artist / Designer based in Montreal within the Greater Montreal Metropolitan Area. The role sits in the wholesale, fashion, and ecommerce space and offers compensation of up to $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will bring strong apparel graphic design experience, especially in prints and production-ready artwork. This is a hands-on technical creative role that spans the full development cycle, from initial concept through to final production. You will work closely with design, merchandising, and production teams, combining artistic direction with precision and attention to manufacturing requirements.
Experience profile
The ideal professional has worked on apparel graphics, print development, and production-ready assets for fashion or wholesale brands. They are comfortable building seasonal collections, preparing technical files, and partnering with cross-functional teams such as design, merchandising, and marketing. The role calls for someone who can move between creative thinking and technical execution in a fast-paced production environment.
Core responsibilities
- Create original graphics, prints, patterns, and seasonal apparel artwork from concept through final production.
- Build tech packs, line sheets, and detailed manufacturing specifications for vendors and factories.
- Develop repeat patterns, color variations, and print-ready files, including separations for production methods such as screen printing and sublimation.
- Work with merchandising and production teams to maintain accuracy and commercial practicality in designs.
- Prepare marketing visuals, lookbook materials, and social media creative assets that reflect the brand identity.
- Coordinate directly with overseas vendors and factories during sample development, revisions, and approvals.
- Handle several deadlines at once across multiple collections while preserving consistency and strong attention to detail.
- Keep up with fashion and graphic design trends and contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions.
Technical and production expertise
This role requires a solid grasp of fashion production processes, including print methods, fabric limitations, and garment construction factors. You should be able to prepare artwork for manufacturing with accurate technical specifications, review samples, apply corrections, and protect design quality throughout the production process.
Tools and software
Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills are needed for technical flats, repeat patterns, vector artwork, and print layouts. Adobe Photoshop is used for mockups, image editing, and textile graphics, while Adobe InDesign supports line sheets, presentations, and lookbooks. Working knowledge or exposure to 3D/CAD tools and fashion development workflow software is also relevant, including tools being used to learn or develop 3D garment visualization capabilities.
Key strengths
The best fit will have a strong fashion sense for color, typography, composition, and trend direction. Precision, organization, and the ability to balance creativity with strict production standards are essential. The position also calls for confidence working independently as well as collaboratively across teams, along with strong multitasking ability in seasonal production cycles.
