Job description
Role Overview
Book Buddy Media is bringing on additional graphic novel artists to support increasing client demand. The current priority is a sports graphic novel series inspired by real athletes, so strong figure drawing and the ability to create a convincing likeness are essential. The team is also interested in artists working across a range of visual approaches, including sports, indie, and manga styles.
What You’ll Do
- Coordinate with the art team to understand the creative brief and project direction.
- Create comic and graphic novel artwork, including multiple draft rounds before final approval.
- Blend text and visuals where the format requires it.
- Share illustration drafts for review and sign-off.
- Deliver work according to the agreed timeline.
- Provide completed artwork in the required specifications.
Current Project Needs
- Sports graphic novel work centered on real athletes, with the ability to portray sports figures accurately and capture likenesses.
- Indie graphic novel illustration.
- Manga-style illustration.
About the Team
The company is made up of publishing specialists, project managers, editors, designers, animators, sound engineers, illustrators, and writers. It supports publishing and content-development work with a particular focus on K–12 school publishing.
