Role overview

This opening is for a Graphic Design Specialist in Boston, MA, with work performed onsite. The position is focused on creating visual communications and digital interface designs that support a bank’s mission, reinforce its public image, and protect brand identity. You will work with stakeholders, IT, UX/Design, Digital Strategy, and Communications teams to deliver modern, effective solutions. The role also includes using AI-enabled creative tools in a responsible way to improve speed, quality, and ideation while staying aligned with brand and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Work with project teams to understand business needs and design objectives.
  • Develop user-focused visual solutions for moderately complex design and interface problems using current industry practices.
  • Guide design work from initial concept through final production, making use of AI-supported ideation, layout exploration, image generation, and workflow automation when appropriate.
  • Deliver final creative assets in partnership with UX and design colleagues.
  • Review business requirements with team support and translate them into design recommendations.
  • Create sketches, wireframes, storyboards, charts, graphics, data visualizations, and interactive layouts, using AI tools where they add value.
  • Coordinate with UX/Design, Digital Strategy, IT, and Communications teams to identify digital updates and enhancements.
  • Keep up with design research, market trends, and new developments in AI-assisted creative workflows.
  • Take part in user research activities and, where consistent with bank standards, use AI-powered synthesis tools to surface patterns and insights.
  • Demonstrate dependable teamwork, strong collaboration, and a customer-service mindset.
  • Use AI tools to support early-stage data visualization concepts and automated formatting.
  • Find and use original or stock imagery, and when suitable, responsibly apply AI image generation to support concept development and iteration.
  • Protect and promote brand guidelines, including ethical, transparent, and responsible AI use in creative production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in graphic design, visual studies, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to contribute effectively in multidisciplinary team settings.
  • Strong creativity and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Advanced design, typography, and production capabilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Clear and concise communication of design decisions.
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and modern design software.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Exposure to digital photo and video production is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach.
  • Experience using AI-assisted design tools such as generative imagery, layout suggestions, and automated pattern libraries.
  • Ability to assess AI-generated output for accuracy, accessibility, ethical use, and brand fit.
  • Awareness of changing AI capabilities and willingness to incorporate them appropriately into design workflows.
