Location and Facility
The Foynes terminal in County Limerick, with an 82,000 m³ capacity and 18 storage tanks, is a vital asset handling diverse fuels and biofuels, ensuring supply security and flexibility to meet demand for lower-carbon fuels.
Role Summary
This fixed-term three-year graduate role is designed for recent degree holders to gain hands-on industry experience and structured training as a Safety Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee site operations to guarantee compliance with established health, safety, and environmental standards set by company policies and the terminal's safety management system.
- Assist the Terminal Manager in implementing and maintaining the safety management system and COMAH regulations.
- Carry out routine inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs, reporting findings and ensuring follow-up actions.
- Support the development of risk assessments, method statements, and manage permit-to-work procedures.
- Lead incident investigations to determine root causes and ensure corrective measures are applied.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox meetings, and training programs for employees and contractors.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and upkeep of safety signs and barriers.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- A minimum of a Level 8 degree or equivalent qualification.
- Basic understanding of COMAH, DSEAR, and relevant Irish health and safety legislation.
- Motivated to develop necessary skills and competencies for the role.
