Job description

About sensmore

sensmore pioneers intelligent automation for the largest heavy machinery worldwide. Their proprietary Physical AI technology empowers massive machines like wheel loaders to adapt instantly to changing environments and perform new tasks without prior retraining. The company integrates advanced robotics into a platform delivering intelligence and automation products that significantly enhance productivity and safety in mining, construction, and adjacent industries.

Role Overview

They are seeking recent graduates with Formula Student experience in robotics engineering to contribute to building autonomous systems for enormous vehicles operating under harsh conditions such as mining and construction sites. The focus lies in tackling real-world problems similar to those faced on tracks, but with machinery weighing over 30 tons and often running continuously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI algorithms to enhance perception and navigation capabilities of autonomous heavy machines.
  • Process radar, LiDAR, and camera sensor data to build resilient perception modules that function reliably despite dust, vibration, and rugged terrain.
  • Collaborate closely with software, hardware, and field teams to seamlessly integrate autonomy features.
  • Own development projects end-to-end including design, implementation, testing on actual machines, and iterative improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess or near completion of a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience in Formula Student Driverless projects; leadership is a plus.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and autonomous robotic systems including perception, state estimation, planning, control, and simulation.
  • Hands-on and proactive approach aligned with a Formula Student mindset accustomed to deadlines, hardware involvement, and process improvement.

Preferred Skills

  • Programming expertise in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with ROS 2 is advantageous.

Why Join sensmore After Formula Student?
