Role Overview

Ascenda is hiring a Graduate Engineer in Singapore to join the TransferConnect team. TransferConnect supports hundreds of organizations, from large banks to ambitious fintech companies, in processing customer points earning and fulfilment workflows.

The team’s purpose is to help more people access the value of loyalty rewards while keeping systems dependable, scalable, and resilient. This role offers early-career engineers the chance to work on meaningful, high-scale engineering challenges that contribute directly to the growth of the loyalty ecosystem.

What You Will Do

• Contribute to technical initiatives and client delivery work that broaden Ascenda’s product reach across global markets.
• Develop a strong habit of writing dependable, well-structured code that meets high standards for quality, stability, and scalability.
• Support the design and implementation of APIs while building familiarity with the cloud infrastructure that powers them.
• Take ownership of issues from start to finish and work closely with teams such as Product and Partnerships to understand the wider business impact.
• Share knowledge with other engineers, learn from domain experts, and build technical depth through collaboration.

What We Are Looking For

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; suitable for fresh graduates or recent graduates in 2025/2026.
• A solid grounding in computer science fundamentals, with interest in cloud architecture, networking, databases, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on exposure through projects or experience in at least one backend language; Ruby experience is helpful, though strong aptitude and willingness to learn Ruby matter most.
• Some frontend development experience, whether with vanilla JavaScript or modern frameworks, is a plus.
• A practical builder mindset with a preference for simple, elegant solutions and an interest in using emerging tools such as AI to improve workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including comfort working across functions and proposing thoughtful improvements.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for learning new languages, libraries, and engineering practices.
