Job description
Role Overview
The Government Relations Officer will act as the main point of contact for company interactions with UAE authorities and will support a wide range of administrative, compliance, and operational tasks in Abu Dhabi.
Government Relations and PRO Support
- Handle day-to-day coordination with UAE government bodies such as MOHRE, ICP, TAMM, GDRFA, Abu Dhabi Chamber, and other relevant entities.
- Prepare, submit, follow up on, and track employment visas, residence visas, Emirates IDs, labor permits, visa renewals, cancellations, and any status updates.
- Keep the company aligned with UAE immigration and labor regulations at all times.
- Monitor the validity of visas, company registrations, and approvals to reduce the risk of delays, fines, or non-compliance.
Corporate Administration
- Oversee company licensing, Establishment Cards, Chamber Memberships, and similar registrations, including renewals, amendments, and cancellations.
- Arrange document attestation, notarization, legalization, and related government clearances.
- Maintain accurate records for licenses, statutory papers, and company documents.
Employee and Travel Assistance
- Support employee joining and exit processes.
- Coordinate business travel needs such as hotel reservations, airport pickups and drop-offs, and associated logistics.
- Assist with GCC business visa processing for destinations including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain.
Operations and Logistics
- Manage matters related to company vehicles, including registration, insurance, renewals, and traffic-related requirements.
- Assist with project mobilization and site access coordination.
- Support the issuance of client, project, and industrial zone access passes when needed.
- Liaise with local vendors, service providers, and government officials as required.
General Administration
- Help with office administration and procurement-related tasks.
- Coordinate administrative matters with headquarters and regional teams.
- Provide management with general operational and business support.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of UAE experience in PRO, government relations, and administration work.
- Strong understanding of UAE labor laws, immigration procedures, and government systems.
- Hands-on experience with MOHRE, ICP, TAMM, GDRFA, and Abu Dhabi government authorities.
- Experience in engineering, construction, oil and gas, EPC, or industrial environments is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ADNOC-related administrative procedures will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong organizational habits and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Language Requirements
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
- Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
- Chinese language ability is an added advantage, though it is not mandatory.
