Job description

Job Summary

The Government Relations Manager will own the company’s interactions with public authorities in Saudi Arabia and make sure all regulatory obligations are met on time. The role covers licensing, visas, work permits, and other approvals needed to keep operations running smoothly. It also acts as the main point of contact with government bodies and works closely with Tetra Pak’s legal partners in Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Kuwait, and the UAE on compliance-related matters.

The position is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Government Liaison and Compliance

  • Develop and sustain productive working relationships with authorities such as MOHR, GOSI, MISA, Civil Defense, Customs, Chamber of Commerce, MOI, and the Municipality.
  • Ensure the business follows Saudi labor rules, immigration requirements, and all other relevant government procedures.
  • Handle the renewal and maintenance of business licenses, permits, and legal records to avoid any disruption to operations.

Employee Visa and Work Permit Management

  • Oversee the processing, renewal, and cancellation of employee visas, work permits, and Iqamas.
  • Support new hires and their immediate family members with the settlement process.
  • Manage the preparation and renewal of employment contracts through the Qiwa platform.
  • Administer Saudization requirements and ensure compliance with the required quotas and national workforce rules.

Regulatory Strategy and Reporting

  • Track changes in Saudi laws, regulations, policies, CRs, and licensing requirements, and brief senior leaders on the business impact.
  • Submit reports, filings, surveys, and supporting documents accurately and within deadlines to the relevant authorities.
  • Introduce and improve processes to make government-related work more efficient.
  • Direct one team member, the admin assistant/broker.

Crisis Management and Dispute Resolution

  • Resolve government-related disputes and compliance concerns together with HR and Legal teams.
  • Serve as the lead contact during audits, inspections, and official government reviews.
  • Head disciplinary committee activities and take part in employee disciplinary procedures.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Law, or a similar discipline is required, along with at least 6 years of experience in Government Relations within logistics, e-commerce, or multinational companies.

Technical and Regulatory Knowledge

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Saudi labor laws, immigration regulations, and general business compliance. Practical experience with GOSI, Muqeem, Qiwa, and Mudad is also required.

Professional and Interpersonal Skills

Applicants should already have a strong network with government departments and regulatory bodies. Clear communication in Arabic and English, negotiation ability, and strong stakeholder management skills are important. The role also requires solid problem-solving skills to handle complex regulatory matters and compliance issues effectively.

Travel to Riyadh and to other GCC countries may be required when necessary.
