Job description
About the role
This position is for a meticulous Government Data Research Analyst who will gather, interpret, organize, and keep current a wide range of official information related to regulations, trade, taxation, customs, and legal matters from public government sources across different countries. The role contributes directly to a RegTech platform by turning complex public-sector information into clear, structured datasets that can be used reliably across the product.
Key responsibilities
You will track changes in government rules and compliance requirements, build and maintain datasets spanning multiple jurisdictions, and pull relevant details from sources such as official government portals, legal notices, gazettes, and regulatory repositories. The role also involves checking data for accuracy, updating internal records promptly, coordinating with product, compliance, and engineering teams to improve data completeness and quality, and preparing concise summaries on regulatory updates and their likely business implications. In addition, you will document how research is carried out and where each data point comes from.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in Law, Public Policy, International Trade, Economics, Political Science, Information Management, or a closely related discipline is required. The ideal candidate should bring strong analytical and research ability, with the confidence to understand legal and regulatory materials. Prior exposure to government, legal, compliance, customs, trade, tax, or similar regulatory datasets is preferred. You should be highly detail-focused, comfortable validating data, and capable of clear written and spoken English communication. This role suits someone who can work independently in a fully remote setting and who is comfortable using spreadsheets, databases, and web-based research tools.
Preferred qualifications
Additional value will be placed on experience in RegTech, Compliance, LegalTech, Trade Compliance, Customs, Tax, or ESG-related research. Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks, official government information sources, AI-assisted research tools, and data management platforms will also be beneficial.
Benefits
The role offers a fully remote working arrangement, flexible hours, and the opportunity to collaborate with an international team while gaining broad exposure to regulatory environments worldwide.
