About the Role

Join DPD UK in Eastleigh as a Goods on Hold Operative on a permanent or fixed-term contract, earning approximately £25,500 annually. You will be part of a busy, fast-moving operation with a turnover exceeding £2 billion, where a supportive and inclusive culture fosters career advancement and sustainability efforts. Working five days a week, including weekends, you will support depot activities by managing parcels needing special attention.

Responsibilities

  • Manage parcels marked as 'goods on hold,' ensuring proper processing and timely resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to oversee the held parcel process, meeting deadlines and operational targets.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for misdirected or mislabeled parcels and resolve any parcel-related customer inquiries effectively.
  • Identify parcels that are damaged or opened and move them to the designated area for further inspection.
  • Work alongside senior management and security teams to detect and prevent fraudulent activities linked to consignments.
  • Perform regular housekeeping checks to maintain a safe and organized environment.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in fast-paced administrative environments, ideally in warehousing or customer service roles.
  • High attention to accuracy, self-drive, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for handling customer interactions directly and over the phone.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Heightened attention to detail and awareness of security protocols.
