Position Overview

This role is for a Gold Loan Officer at Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, based in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The position sits in the Gold Loan department at the RO level and is a full-time role reporting to the Area Head - Gold Loan.

Role purpose: The position is designed to drive gold loan business growth by meeting and exceeding the branch targets for loan count and loan value. The officer will serve as the first point of contact for gold loan customers, explain the product clearly, gather the required documents, and coordinate with branch and external partners to support acquisition and servicing.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves mobilizing business, managing customer service, maintaining portfolio quality, and supporting internal control standards.

  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly targets for gold loan disbursement in both volume and value terms for the assigned branch or portfolio.
  • Work on improving OSP for the assigned portfolio and contribute to assigned cross-sell goals.
  • Contact or visit eligible customers, present the product, and convert them into leads and business opportunities.
  • Carry out outbound promotional activity to generate gold loan leads.
  • Coordinate with field teams, DSAs, and BC locations to support sourcing and conversions.
  • Monitor and support collection of cases in the 0–90 DPD bucket.
  • Guide customers on the gold loan schemes and services available through Ujjivan.
  • Focus on outbound activity and lead generation from both NTB and ETB customer segments.
  • Respond to customer queries quickly and accurately at the field level.
  • Ensure smooth service delivery through partner channels.
  • Follow lending policies, quality controls, and audit expectations.
  • Identify default-prone or negative areas for gold loans based on field observations.
  • Share practical feedback on field conditions and competitor activity.
  • Make sure key operational requirements such as appraiser availability and loan-related administrative support are in place.
  • Stay updated on circulars and all products and services offered by the branch.
  • Complete mandatory training requirements and support team training compliance.
  • Follow goal-setting, mid-year review, and annual appraisal timelines for self.
  • Act as a backup for Assets Desk Officers when needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate or professional postgraduate degree in any discipline.
  • Freshers can apply, and candidates with up to 2 years of experience in any asset product are also suitable, preferably with exposure to gold loans.
  • Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and manage customer relationships.
  • Working knowledge of gold loan products and processes.
  • Ability to speak and read regional languages as well as English.
  • Clear verbal communication with simple, effective language.
  • Comfortable using computers.
  • Result-driven mindset with a strong focus on performance.
  • No certifications are required.

Performance Metrics

The role is measured on gold loan disbursement achievement, lead conversion, cross-sell performance, renewal conversion, portfolio health, fraud control, and training and PMS compliance.

  • Total gold loan disbursed versus plan.
  • Lead conversion rate.
  • Cross-sell numbers.
  • Renewal-eligible customer conversion percentage.
  • Reduction in PAR for the 0–90 day range.
  • Number of gold loan fraud incidents.
  • Timely completion of PMS for self.
  • Training man-days attended.

Key Interactions

The officer will regularly coordinate with internal branch and regional teams, as well as external ecosystem partners.

  • Internal stakeholders include ADO-Gold Loan, BOO-SFB, CCR-URC, CCR, CRO, LO, SO, RO, and regional functions across product, credit, operations, collections, audit, and vigilance.
  • External stakeholders include appraisers, cashiers, competitors in gold loans, and other channel partners.
