The position involves steering strategic planning, structuring deals, and leading negotiations while collaborating closely with procurement, engineering, finance, legal teams, and external vendors. The role demands crafting sourcing strategies and pinpointing opportunities to drive product innovation by leveraging technological advancements. Deep expertise in market trends, negotiation techniques, manufacturing insights, and risk management are essential for success.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive knowledge of the commodity market to predict trends and identify emerging competitive challenges.
• Analyze shifts in buying and supplier leverage to create strategic advantages for Apple.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable sourcing terms aligning with Apple’s objectives.
• Balance cost, volume, and quality considerations to formulate agreements ensuring performance excellence and supply reliability.
• Partner with Engineering, R&D, and Global Supply Management to achieve company goals.
• Enhance global supply chain effectiveness through rigorous cost, scenario analysis, and benchmarking activities.
• Gain detailed understanding of manufacturing process improvements, reverse logistics, and market data to influence Apple’s product roadmap and sourcing decisions.
• Identify and manage risks within the supply chain environment.
• Coordinate global supply chain disruptions with international teams in real time.
• Support program management by refining processes, templates, escalation protocols, and reporting tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Extensive background in global sourcing or supply chain management with proven success handling complex supplier relations and contract negotiations.
• Strong analytical and quantitative reasoning, capable of juggling multiple priorities and projects under deadlines.
• Skilled negotiator with determination, strategic insight, and passion.
• Proficient in forecasting, supply planning, and maintaining supply chain adaptability to minimize risks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of supplier management and operational workflows.
• Experience developing suppliers to meet high standards for quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation capabilities.
• Effective at quickly interpreting data and briefing senior executives, while identifying potential supply chain challenges impacting product strategy.
• Resilient and flexible, thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
• Master’s degree or MBA is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel internationally between 20% and 30% of the time.
