About the Role

As Global Lead for Learning & Development and Training Management, you will combine strategic leadership with practical execution across a worldwide setup. Based in Cologne and reporting to the Senior Director of Talent, Leadership & Learning, you will guide the global learning landscape in close partnership with the business.

The role is centered on building a future-ready learning culture, strengthening capability development, and using data, modern technology, and AI-enabled approaches to improve learning impact across regions.

Global Learning Strategy & Culture

  • Refine and advance a unified learning strategy that promotes continuous development across the company.
  • Create conditions that support lifelong learning and bring performance support and knowledge sharing into daily work.
  • Back business transformation and growth through modern learning methods, AI-based solutions, and current insights from neuroscience.
  • Set global standards, frameworks, and governance principles for Learning & Development.

Learning Portfolio & Program Excellence

  • Build and manage a strong global learning portfolio aligned with business priorities.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of effective learning formats, including digital, blended, and classroom-based solutions.
  • Define processes and standards for learning in the flow of work, including transfer of learning and long-term sustainability.

Learning Needs & Business Impact

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify learning needs across functions, leadership levels, and regions.
  • Ensure learning initiatives support strategic goals and create measurable business value.
  • Introduce KPIs, reporting, and analytics to track effectiveness and continuously enhance outcomes.

Learning Technology & Innovation

  • Lead the rollout and ongoing enhancement of the global learning technology ecosystem.
  • Monitor market developments and innovation in digital learning and apply relevant new approaches.
  • Use modern technologies, including AI, to improve learner experience, scalability, and efficiency.

Global Collaboration & Capability Building

  • Lead a global team of learning technology specialists and instructional designers.
  • Support local L&D teams in strengthening digital learning and classroom training capabilities.
  • Encourage collaboration across countries and functions to share practices and create synergies.
  • Act as an important partner within the international HR organization and with other business areas.

Profile

You bring several years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or a similar HR area, ideally gained in an international setting. You have already built and rolled out global learning strategies and frameworks, and you understand modern learning methods, digital learning, and learning technologies well. A strong analytics mindset, experience with KPIs, and the ability to measure learning effectiveness are essential. The role also calls for a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery, along with strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

Language and Education

English fluency at C1 level is required, and German would be an advantage. A university degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or a similar discipline, or an equivalent qualification, is expected.
