Job description

About the Role

This position is responsible for overseeing the full credit and portfolio journey across all electric markets. The role is centered on making sure lending decisions are prudent, repayment is tracked closely, and recovery efforts are efficient, while protecting portfolio quality and investor trust. It combines credit leadership, deep analysis, and hands-on operational execution to strengthen repayment performance through strong processes and close collaboration across teams.

Portfolio Strategy, Lifecycle & Investor Risk Management

  • Take ownership of the complete credit lifecycle, from assessment and onboarding through repayment, collections, and recovery, while following company rules and investor requirements.
  • Act as the main internal steward of portfolio strategy, aligning commercial, customer experience, finance, and strategy teams so growth and credit quality remain balanced.
  • Create, improve, and roll out credit risk frameworks covering scoring, approval rules, exposure limits, and collections standards.
  • Lead reporting that is grounded in data and take proactive action to protect investor returns from risk.
  • Build and refine delinquency and repayment models, spotting early signals and trends that support business decisions.
  • Turn portfolio insights into operational changes, updated payment plans, or sales and product process improvements that lift repayment performance.

Portfolio Health Monitoring & Interventions

  • Track portfolio credit health across countries on an ongoing basis, with attention to weak markets, sales agents, or customer groups.
  • Direct focused interventions such as repayment campaigns, coaching, restructuring, or process checks to improve collections and lower delinquency.
  • Strengthen portfolio management continuously to reduce write-offs and improve debt recovery in line with commercial and finance goals.
  • Work with regional and country teams to maintain consistent performance standards and accountability.

Risk Analysis & Mitigation

  • Analyze credit performance in depth to uncover risks tied to creditworthiness, payment behavior, and broader economic conditions affecting customers.
  • Build and maintain dashboards for portfolio risk metrics such as PAR, default, and ECL for management and investor updates.
  • Suggest and implement controls that reduce risk, including stronger customer screening, better data verification, and improved payment plan design.

Debt Recovery & Collections Strategy

  • Design and run end-to-end collections and recovery systems that reduce delinquency and improve repayment efficiency.
  • Oversee both call-center and field collection activity, including repossessions, settlements, and customer win-back efforts.
  • Develop segmented collection approaches based on customer profile and payment patterns, balancing empathy with firm follow-through.
  • Put in place standardized policies, SOPs, scripts, and incentive structures that support ethical and effective collections.

Field Audit & Sales Quality Control

  • Manage field auditors who verify customer identity, assess sales quality, and check compliance with credit procedures.
  • Introduce post-sale audits and customer revisit processes to identify fraudulent or poor-quality sales and recommend corrective steps.
  • Partner with Commercial and CX teams to resolve sales and service problems that affect repayment behavior.

Analytics, Insights & CX Alignment

  • Lead credit and data analysts in producing practical insights on repayment trends, delinquency behavior, and customer risk profiles.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to quickly resolve operational or product issues that influence repayment.
  • Use tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel to improve visibility and support data-led decision-making across the business.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

  • Deliver regular, data-backed portfolio updates to senior leadership, investors, and the Board covering portfolio health, delinquency risk, and recovery progress.
  • Build strong working relationships with Finance, Sales, and Commercial teams to keep execution aligned.
  • Lead quarterly portfolio reviews with country and regional leaders to evaluate credit quality, repayment progress, and the results of interventions.

Team Leadership & Culture Building

  • Lead and coach a cross-functional team of CX, collections, auditing, and analytics professionals, promoting ownership and accountability.
  • Set clear targets for repayment, delinquency reduction, and recovery efficiency.
  • Foster a work culture built on integrity, accuracy, and proactive problem-solving within the credit function.
