Job description
About the Role
We are collaborating with SLICKHAIR, a rapidly growing and vibrant Australian beauty and personal care brand, renowned for its creative boldness, cult-favorite products, and expanding international presence. Currently scaling, SLICKHAIR is forging major retail partnerships, including Target US, while continuously evolving its product offerings and maintaining strong cultural relevance across customer interactions globally.
Role Overview
As the Global Head of Brand & Marketing, you will lead worldwide marketing efforts, owning the calendar, campaigns, and their execution. Your mission is to connect with consumers across retail, digital, social platforms, and eCommerce in all operational markets. Working alongside the Founder, you will translate brand vision into financially impactful campaigns, from ideation through to launch. You will influence product positioning by collaborating with the New Product Development (NPD) team from the earliest stages. Leading a skilled team, you will establish frameworks, briefing protocols, and creative standards to enable a lean team to deliver remarkably effective results.
This leadership role demands a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, requiring adaptability between brand elevation and detailed implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive global brand strategy and consistency, ensuring the brand evolves with premium differentiation across Australia, the Middle East, Europe, and the US.
- Manage and execute the comprehensive marketing calendar, overseeing flagship events such as Coachella, holiday campaigns, and the Target US launch; steward influencer strategies and hold external agencies accountable to strategic goals.
- Champion international brand growth through market-specific plans, including leading the 2026 Target US launch strategy while maintaining brand uniformity across retail partners like Sephora, Priceline, Coles, Woolworths, and Target US.
- Monitor and optimize brand performance based on sales, ROI, customer acquisition, and engagement metrics, collaborating closely to enhance conversion rates and customer lifetime value.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a results-driven internal team by instituting robust creative standards, streamlined workflows, and thoughtful decisions regarding in-house versus outsourced tasks.
Success Factors
Achievement in this role is marked by a distinct SLICKHAIR brand presence across all markets with consistently premium executions—from retail shelves in the US to digital channels in the Middle East. Campaigns will not only be visually compelling but also demonstrably drive revenue, with success measurable through clear metrics.
The key milestone is the 2026 Target US launch executing authentic brand storytelling, strong retail activation, and sustained commercial growth post-launch. Furthermore, growth in existing markets will result from tailored strategies that enhance distributor engagement and brand strength. Product entries will succeed due to early marketing strategy integration during product development. Internally, the brand and creative team should function at an exceptional performance level with efficient organization and impactful output.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings proven leadership experience in beauty or FMCG brands operating in both mass and premium retail channels. They have managed successful international retail expansions, preferably including US, Middle Eastern, or European markets. Key qualifications include:
- 5 to 10+ years’ experience in brand or marketing roles within beauty or consumer goods with a global scope.
- Demonstrated success in leading brands through international retail launches.
- Extensive knowledge of mass and premium retail environments such as Target, Sephora, Coles, and Woolworths, including retailer-specific campaign requirements.
- Proficiency in developing continuous marketing strategies rather than solely one-off launches.
- Balanced creative and commercial expertise capable of directing campaigns and evaluating their revenue impact equally.
- Experience collaborating with NPD teams early in product development.
- Track record managing external digital agencies and ensuring they meet briefs and results.
- Highly organized, execution-driven, and comfortable leading a lean team.
