Your role
In this position, you will use geospatial expertise to support the development of renewable energy projects and strategic business decisions. Your work will combine technical GIS analysis, land and site evaluation, and cross-functional advisory support.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out site and potential assessments for wind, PV, and BESS projects, taking technical, regulatory, environmental, and commercial factors into account.
- Create, refine, and expand GIS analyses, maps, and geodata to support project development, land securing, and permitting processes.
- Perform geospatial due diligence for M&A transactions and assess opportunities, risks, and development potential.
- Build, automate, and improve GIS workflows while maintaining strong data quality and efficient geodata processes.
- Advise multidisciplinary teams with robust spatial analysis and provide reliable decision support for project development and investment choices.
Requirements
- A completed degree in geoinformatics, geography, renewable energy, environmental sciences, or a similar field.
- Practical experience and solid knowledge of GIS, AEP calculations, and site evaluation in the development of wind, PV, or BESS projects.
- Confident use of GIS tools, with experience in WindPro, OpenWind, or comparable software preferred.
- Strong understanding of planning and permitting law, together with a good grasp of regulatory requirements in renewable energy.
- Excellent German and good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
