GIS AI Expert (GIS & AI/ML)

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned GIS AI Expert to craft and deploy AI-powered geospatial solutions combining GIS, satellite imagery, and machine learning techniques. This role focuses on creating geospatial AI models, integrating them into GIS software, and providing actionable visualizations such as maps, dashboards, and automated workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze satellite imagery and various geospatial data sources.
• Develop AI, machine learning, and deep learning models for object detection, image classification, land use and land cover change analysis, spatial prediction and forecasting, route optimization, location intelligence, as well as hotspot and clustering analyses.
• Construct and automate pipelines for geospatial data ingestion and processing.
• Integrate developed AI models with GIS platforms and implement automated workflows.
• Create interactive web maps, dashboards, and reporting tools to deliver insights.
• Maintain high standards for data quality, coordinate precision, and ensure solutions are scalable.
• Prepare thorough technical documentation and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for end users.

Qualifications and Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in GIS with a strong focus on GeoAI applications.
• Demonstrated expertise in satellite imagery analysis, geospatial computer vision, spatial predictive modeling, and spatial machine learning techniques.
• Proficient with GIS and AI tools including ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, GDAL, Rasterio, Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, GeoPandas, Shapely, and spatial databases like PostGIS or GeoPackage.
• Experience integrating AI models within large-scale enterprise GIS environments.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with ArcGIS Deep Learning and ArcGIS Image Analyst extensions.
• Expertise managing extensive geospatial datasets and working within enterprise GIS platforms.
• Strong abilities in communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
