Role Overview
The position involves evaluating candidates' answers for the International A-Level Geography examination by applying a pre-established marking scheme. The examiner must follow strict examination guidelines and recognition protocols to uphold the integrity of the process. Evaluation primarily involves electronic marking through the ePEN system, conducted remotely, although a limited number of scripts may be paper-based and mailed.
Responsibilities
- Mark scripts with precision and uniformity to maintain consistent grading standards.
- Submit sample evaluations to the designated Team Leader within specified deadlines.
- Ensure all assigned marking milestones are met on time.
- Complete all required administrative tasks thoroughly and punctually.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess at least one academic year of teaching experience in the relevant subject and qualification, completed within the last eight years.
- Hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.
Competencies and Skills
- Strong subject matter expertise to accurately interpret and apply the marking scheme.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage time to meet strict deadlines.
Additional Information
- The marking window extends from May to July annually.
- Comprehensive training to prepare for marking duties takes place between May and June.
