Job description
Role Overview
Roadstone Ltd. is hiring a General Operative for its Castlebar Retail location on Moneen Road, Castlebar, County Mayo, Ireland. The selected person will report to the Castlebar Retail Supervisor and support the day-to-day running of the retail yard.
What the Role Involves
This position focuses on helping customers, loading products for customers, keeping stock organized, and managing traffic movement in the retail yard. The role also includes checking customer entry and exit activity to help maintain smooth and safe site operations.
Key Duties
- Support efficient day-to-day operations across the retail yard alongside colleagues and customers.
- Assist customers promptly and in a professional manner.
- Help maintain health and safety controls so the site remains safe for staff and visitors.
- Work with the Retail Manager to address complaints and safety concerns.
- Process, check, and load customer orders efficiently when they leave the site.
- Manage traffic flow in the retail area in line with company procedures.
- Monitor vehicle movements carefully and ensure traffic is handled in a timely way.
- Carry out office-related tasks when needed.
- Take on any additional duties assigned by the Retail Supervisor.
Skills and Competencies Needed
The ideal candidate should be dependable, self-driven, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Strong organization, clear communication, and good people skills are important. Experience with machinery such as a forklift or telescopic handler is also required, along with the ability to work to strict deadlines.
