Role overview

Panda Ireland is hiring dependable, practical people to join its operations team as General Operatives in Monaghan, County Monaghan. The role is active, hands-on, and focused on the safe collection, movement, and handling of waste and recycling materials. You will work outdoors as part of a small, supportive team and help keep an essential service running smoothly for customers and local communities.

This position suits someone who is comfortable with physical work, can stay safety-minded in a fast-moving environment, and is willing to take initiative when needed. Full training will be provided.

What you will do

  • Move customers’ bins to and from the designated collection areas safely and efficiently.
  • Work outdoors with early starts and early finishes.
  • Load and unload vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Handle, stack, and move materials according to correct storage and safety standards.
  • Assist with warehouse and yard tasks whenever needed.
  • Carry out housekeeping duties to maintain tidy, organised, and safe work areas.
  • Check equipment regularly and report any defects, damage, or wear.
  • Follow all health and safety rules, site procedures, and company policies.
  • Deal with customers and members of the public in a professional manner.
  • Contribute effectively as part of a busy team while also working independently when required.
  • Build skills in operating loaders and other materials-handling equipment where needed.
  • Take on other reasonable duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and comfortable with manual work. Previous experience in manual labour is required, and you must have your own transport. Strong spoken and written English is important for this role.

We are looking for someone who is trustworthy, positive, eager to learn, able to communicate well, and capable of working without constant supervision. A friendly approach, professionalism, and a strong focus on safety are essential.
