Role overview

This Advanced Trainee post in General Medicine is based in Darwin, Northern Territory, and sits within an accredited RACP training pathway. It offers a chance to build advanced physician skills in a major teaching hospital environment while working toward Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).

The role is designed for trainees who want exposure to a wide and varied case load, including conditions that are uncommon in metropolitan settings. You will work closely with consultant physicians in a large tertiary referral hospital that provides specialist care across many medical areas.

Clinical exposure and learning

In this position, you will develop hands-on experience across a broad spectrum of medicine, with strong emphasis on decision-making, procedures, teaching and ongoing professional growth in a consultant-supervised setting.

  • Management of acute general medical presentations
  • Care for patients with complex multisystem illness

Requirements

Applicants need current AHPRA registration, or they must be eligible for it. Candidates must also meet the criteria for an RACP Advanced Trainee position in General Medicine.
