Role overview

This opportunity is with a transportation and logistics company in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The position is a direct-hire, full-time leadership role for a local candidate who can work in a hybrid setup. Relocation support is not available. The compensation is $135,000 to $145,000 per year, plus the potential to earn a 20% bonus.

What you will lead

In this role, you will oversee daily business operations, guide strategic direction, and take ownership of full profit and loss performance. You will help strengthen an established, relationship-driven organization by leading teams, improving operational scalability, and supporting business growth.

Core responsibilities

  • Direct the organization’s day-to-day operations and ensure progress toward company goals, objectives, and strategic priorities.
  • Set and reinforce standards for service quality, employee engagement, and cross-functional collaboration with customers, carriers, and business partners.
  • Coach, develop, and retain team members while building succession pipelines for future growth.
  • Work with shared services teams to improve back-office operations, talent processes, and annual planning.
  • Track market trends, competitors, and industry conditions to inform business decisions and strategy.
  • Create, maintain, and execute a rolling three-year strategic plan using market intelligence and SWOT analysis.
  • Communicate the company’s vision, mission, and value proposition across the business.
  • Ensure key positions are filled with the right talent to support execution and growth.
  • Build organizational discipline through consistent communication, accountability, and strong leadership habits.
  • Lead performance management activities, including annual reviews and compensation planning.
  • Develop agent relationships and support expansion of the agent channel.
  • Share annual goals, business plans, and strategic initiatives with teams across the organization.
  • Coach operations leaders on carrier sales approaches and broker account management best practices.
  • Run budget reviews, KPI monitoring, and operational scorecard meetings while ensuring accountability at the team level.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain a safe, dependable, and cost-efficient carrier network.
  • Negotiate freight rates and ensure strong service outcomes.
  • Promote adoption of systems, tools, and technology that improve efficiency and allow scale.
  • Identify growth markets and customer segments and build expansion strategies around them.
  • Design and implement service lines, pricing approaches, and go-to-market plans.
  • Support a growth-focused culture centered on communication, performance measures, and accountability.
  • Maintain a customer-first mindset through proactive service and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead marketing efforts such as branding, digital strategy, website performance, and collateral development.
  • Own the P&L, including budget control, profitability, and overall financial results.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, aging balances, and collections to protect cash flow.
  • Manage buy-side and sell-side pricing strategy.
  • Keep operating expenses aligned with financial plans.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews to measure results against KPIs and budget.
  • Prepare monthly revenue forecasts covering a rolling three-month period.

What you need

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong commercial judgment and experience overseeing financial performance and P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, shaping strategy, and driving growth initiatives.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid arrangement in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Schedule and compensation

The schedule is day shift, Monday through Friday, during business hours. Compensation includes a salary of $135,000 to $145,000 per year, with up to 20% bonus potential.
