About the Role

As the General Manager for Supplier Development in the automotive domain, you will lead and coordinate efforts in costing, sourcing, and onboarding of new suppliers. You will evaluate supplier performance, execute targeted supplier development initiatives, and oversee key supplier events aligning with company and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute purchasing and sourcing strategies while facilitating the onboarding of original equipment (OE) suppliers.
  • Resolve significant sourcing and purchasing challenges effectively.
  • Expand the network of OE suppliers by identifying and onboarding qualified vendors aligned with medium- and long-term strategic plans.
  • Organize and manage the annual supplier awards event and coordinate supplier performance evaluation programs.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication regarding major sourcing issues with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct Request for Quotations (RFQs), oversee product costing, and negotiate costs to optimize purchase terms.
  • Lead supplier development programs in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Implement corrective and preventive measures to enhance operational processes.
  • Conduct performance appraisal discussions with team members, fostering professional development and performance awareness.
