About YouTrip
YouTrip is a fast-scaling multi-currency payments platform serving the Asia Pacific region. The company introduced the region’s first multi-currency digital wallet in 2018 and has since become a leading digital wallet trusted by millions, handling more than US$15 billion in payment value each year.
Through its consumer and business offerings, YouTrip and YouBiz, the company provides accessible, inclusive, and cost-effective financial products for individuals and businesses. Backed by over US$110 million in funding, including a recent Series B led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, YouTrip continues to build digital financial services across the region. It has also been recognised by the World Economic Forum, CNBC, and LinkedIn among top innovators and startups.
The organisation promotes an entrepreneurial, diverse, and inclusive culture and is looking for a leader to help expand its regional fintech footprint.
Role Overview
YouTrip is hiring a General Manager for Singapore to take full ownership of the local P&L, strategy, and execution across both YouTrip and YouBiz in the Singapore market. This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and offers the chance to work closely with senior leadership on the growth of the company’s home market.
What You Will Do
- Take end-to-end accountability for business growth and the P&L of YouTrip and YouBiz in Singapore, with responsibility for revenue, profitability, and key operating measures through the strategic roadmap.
- Shape the Singapore product roadmap in partnership with Product and Engineering, identifying major opportunities and areas for improvement.
- Accelerate growth by designing targeted marketing initiatives and securing high-profile partnership opportunities.
- Drive new sales and business development across both consumer and business segments, including partnerships, negotiations, and related commercial activities.
- Improve operational effectiveness, especially within Customer Services, with a focus on faster response times and stronger CSAT.
- Work through Singapore’s regulatory and compliance environment alongside Legal and Compliance, while engaging relevant internal and external stakeholders and authorities.
- Build a strong understanding of the fintech landscape in Singapore and continuously identify new avenues for growth.
- Recruit, guide, and develop a high-performing local leadership team.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional and cross-border initiatives that support business expansion, in coordination with the COO and leadership team.
Requirements
- Strong entrepreneurial drive, willingness to take ownership, and a hands-on approach with a “do whatever it takes” mindset suited to a fast-moving environment.
- At least 10 years of experience in senior leadership roles, with a demonstrated record of growing revenue and leading teams in high-pressure settings. Background in consumer products or marketing in Singapore is preferred.
- Experience in fintech or financial services, especially in B2C or B2B settings, is a strong advantage.
- Strong intuition for consumer behaviour in Singapore and the ability to support product and go-to-market localisation with sound reasoning.
- Solid commercial judgement in the B2B space, including the ability to identify customer pain points and turn them into solutions; prior experience in B2B fintech or SaaS is ideal.
- Highly analytical, comfortable working with data and metrics, and capable of drawing business insights and setting meaningful performance targets. Marketing analytics experience is especially valued.
- Clear, structured, and transparent communicator who can produce strong written materials and presentations for internal and external audiences.
- Genuine enthusiasm for the travel and payments industry.
