Role Overview

We are hiring a seasoned General Manager to oversee EV production for 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler manufacturing operations in Dholka, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This role is centered on running plant operations, meeting output targets, improving efficiency, and maintaining strong quality and safety standards in a fast-paced electric vehicle manufacturing environment.

As manufacturing capacity grows, the company needs an experienced production leader to strengthen operations and drive excellence across the plant.

Experience and Qualification

The role requires 8 to 12 years of experience in automotive manufacturing, including at least 2 to 3 years of practical exposure to EV assembly or production. A B.E. or B.Tech degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, or Production Engineering is expected. Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Supply Chain Management will be considered an advantage.

Working Schedule

The workweek runs from Monday to Saturday, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for end-to-end production leadership, plant performance, quality control, supply chain coordination, and team development.

  • Oversee complete manufacturing and assembly processes for electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers.
  • Track and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production and dispatch goals.
  • Supervise assembly activities including powertrain integration, chassis assembly, battery pack installation, and final vehicle testing such as dyno checks.
  • Design and execute production planning and control strategies to improve plant utilization and production flow.
  • Review production KPIs regularly and implement measures for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure vehicles meet internal quality benchmarks and applicable regulations such as AIS-156 and CMVR.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices to boost efficiency and reduce defects.
  • Perform root cause investigations and put corrective and preventive actions in place.
  • Work closely with procurement, vendor management, and stores teams to keep materials available without interruption.
  • Maintain inventory for essential EV parts including hub motors, mid-drive motors, BMS, MCU, and wiring harnesses.
  • Manage BOM accuracy and handle ECN/ECR changes effectively.
  • Guide, coach, and develop production engineers, supervisors, technicians, and shop-floor teams.
  • Create and sustain a strong performance culture with a focus on safety.
  • Enforce safety requirements for high-voltage systems and lithium-ion battery handling.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety and environmental norms.
  • Present production MIS and operational updates to senior leadership as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of EV manufacturing for 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler platforms.
  • Practical exposure to chassis fabrication, BIW, welding, painting, and vehicle assembly.
  • Hands-on knowledge of battery pack assembly, BMS, controller flashing, electrical diagnostics, and end-of-line testing.
  • Solid command of production planning and control, capacity planning, and shop-floor operations.
  • Experience using ERP or MRP tools for planning and inventory control.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
  • Strong leadership, analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to explain production MIS and operational reports to management.
  • Comfort in a fast-moving, high-growth manufacturing setup with a practical, hands-on approach.
