About the role
We are hiring a meticulous General Ledger Accountant to join the finance function in a fast-moving real estate and property management setting. The position focuses on keeping financial records accurate, overseeing general ledger operations, supporting month-end and year-end closing, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and making sure work is aligned with SOCPA, IFRS, and Saudi regulatory standards.
You will contribute to financial reporting, audit support, and ongoing improvements to finance processes while working across a multi-property business environment.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger and maintain the chart of accounts.
- Draft, review, and post journal entries, accruals, provisions, and other accounting adjustments.
- Carry out monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and clear open reconciling items.
- Handle fixed asset records, depreciation calculations, and inventory accounting.
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Assist with financial statements, variance reviews, and management reporting packs.
- Support VAT filings, ZATCA compliance work, and audit requests.
- Contribute to ERP system improvements and broader finance process enhancement projects.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is needed.
- Between 4 and 7 years of accounting experience is required, including 2 to 3 years specifically in general ledger work.
- Prior exposure to real estate, property management, mall leasing, retail, or commercial property operations is expected.
- Strong working knowledge of SOCPA, IFRS, and financial reporting practices is essential.
- Hands-on experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, Yardi, MRI, or similar systems is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.
- The role calls for solid analytical ability, clear communication, and strong problem-solving skills.
Preferred qualifications
- CMA certification is an advantage.
- Experience working in multi-property environments is preferred.
- Exposure to Saudi VAT, ZATCA requirements, and external audit processes is beneficial.
