Role Overview

The General Assembly Quality Manager oversees excellence in Quality processes across all General Assembly operations. This prominent role requires bridging coordination, leading cross-functional teams, and implementing robust Quality systems to ensure effective in-station inspection and Built-In Quality deployment. Responsibilities include managing Control Point Stations and guiding continuous improvement in Quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and supervise Control Points at key locations within General Assembly manufacturing operations.
• Lead and cultivate a high-performing team that values accountability, collaboration, and ongoing enhancement.
• Define and track Control Point KPIs to evaluate problem-solving efficiency and align with company Quality objectives.
• Enhance team engagement through clear communication and recognition of contributions.
• Build strong partnerships with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and Quality Engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Be a visible advocate for safety, Quality standards, and operational excellence across the organization.
• Develop and enforce Quality Inspection strategies and standards for Control Points.
• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures and workstation designs in line with Quality and ergonomic standards.
• Design comprehensive training programs to equip supervisors and inspectors with necessary inspection skills and control techniques.
• Lead defect containment, escalation, and resolution processes, ensuring corrective actions return to the root cause with manufacturing team involvement.
• Identify and apply appropriate tooling, equipment, and inspection technologies to meet current and evolving Quality assurance requirements.
• Contribute as a key stakeholder in formulating and deploying Quality policies, processes, and specifications alongside Engineering and Manufacturing departments.
• Promote an organizational culture embedding Quality Mindset and Built-In Quality where each employee understands their role in customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate regular calibration between Control Points, Customer Acceptance Line, and Lucid Customer Product Audit.
• Manage Quality findings from multiple sources at Control Points and update inspection instructions to emphasize continuous improvement.
• Implement the Lucid Production System at Control Point Stations.

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated track record of launching, scaling, or stabilizing Quality Operations in the automotive sector.
• Experience leading Greenfield Launch projects is essential.
• Ability to lead and influence effectively within a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Deep knowledge of Quality Operations and Quality Core Tools.
• Expertise in Quality control systems, inspection methodologies, and standardization of manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication skills across presentations, writing, and speaking with all organizational levels.
• Proficient in cross-functional problem-solving and challenging proposed solutions when necessary.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field) is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing Quality, including incoming or supplier Quality within high-volume OEM or Tier 1 settings, with at least 7 years at an OEM.
• More than 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing Quality or related functions.
• Solid foundation in embedding Quality culture, vehicle inspection, problem-solving, and cross-team coordination.
• Good understanding of General Assembly processes including torque requirements.
