Job overview
The company is looking for a seasoned General Accountant at an advanced level to join its Accounts & Finance function in Dubai Media City. The role suits someone with a solid accounting and finance background, along with a strong record of working in a training company or a similar educational environment.
Work location and interview
This position is based in Dubai Media City. The interview will be conducted in person in Dubai Media City, near the Dubai Internet City Metro Station.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the company’s daily finance activities, including payables, receivables, and related accounting operations.
- Compile monthly financial statements, budget updates, and forecasting reports.
- Review financial performance regularly to spot patterns, differences, and areas where processes can be strengthened.
- Work with external auditors to support compliance with applicable regulations and sector standards.
- Set up and maintain internal controls that protect company assets and reduce financial exposure.
- Partner with teams across the business to help drive strategic goals and operational objectives.
Qualifications and requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required; CPA or a comparable professional qualification is an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance is needed.
- Experience in a training organization or educational institution is strongly preferred.
- Practical experience using Odoo ERP is preferred, though experience with other ERP platforms is also relevant.
- Strong analytical ability and close attention to detail are essential for interpreting financial information and making sound recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are important, along with the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization.
- The role calls for leadership qualities, initiative, and a proactive mindset toward solving problems and improving processes.
