Role overview

We are seeking a dependable and well-presented Gateman for a busy project in Sittingbourne. In this role, you will manage site access and contribute to overall site security, acting as the first person visitors, contractors, and delivery teams encounter. The position requires you to keep the entrance safe, orderly, and professionally managed throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

• Manage entry and exit points by checking ID and confirming that access credentials are valid.
• Allow only approved workers, vehicles, and plant onto the site.
• Use gates and barriers to control the movement of vehicles and equipment.
• Greet visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers in a courteous and professional way.
• Support material handling by checking delivery paperwork and liaising with suppliers when needed.
• Assist during emergencies by helping direct emergency services and supporting evacuation procedures.
• Carry out traffic marshalling duties confidently when required.
• Keep the gate area tidy and organised.

Requirements

• A valid CSCS, GQA, or NPORS card that is CSCS-affiliated, along with relevant experience.
• A dependable, punctual, and professional approach to work.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• For NPORS cards, they must be CSCS-affiliated and display the CSCS hologram to meet client rules.
• Applicants without the exact card requirement are still encouraged to make contact, as guidance on the transfer process can be provided.

Desirable experience and certifications

• First Aid at Work certification.
• Traffic Marshall certification.
• Previous storeman experience.
