Job description
Job Overview
This role is responsible for assuring garment quality from the development phase to final shipment. The specialist will apply quality standards rigorously, perform thorough inspections, resolve quality problems, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and manufacturing units to meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine technical packs, product specifications, and construction details prior to production.
- Review fit samples, Pre-Production (PP) samples, size set samples, and Top of Production (TOP) samples to verify adherence to standards.
- Understand denim wash processes and conduct shade band assessments.
- Possess knowledge of testing parameters for both fabric and garment performance testing (FPT & GPT).
- Ensure all feedback from PP reviews is incorporated into bulk manufacturing.
- Monitor production quality ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Carry out in-line and final product inspections aligned with Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) guidelines.
- Detect quality defects, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Liaise with merchandising, design, technical, and production departments to address quality concerns.
- Verify that measurements, workmanship, fit, visual appearance, and trims conform to specifications.
- Compile and maintain detailed QA reports, inspection documentation, and quality records.
- Train factory quality personnel on quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
- Promote continuous quality improvement efforts to minimize customer returns.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of garment construction methods, fabric types, trims, and sewing technology.
- Solid grasp of fit assessment, measuring, grading, and pattern analysis.
- Familiarity with AQL inspection procedures and quality management tools.
- Ability to detect defects and recommend actionable solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and upkeep of quality documentation.
