Overview
Stratosphere Games is an AAA mobile game studio based in Berlin, Germany. The team is hiring a Gameplay Design Intern to help shape both current and future game projects.
Role summary
In this internship, you will assist senior game designers with the creation and improvement of game systems, mechanics, and levels. You will take part in ideation workshops and design reviews, share suggestions and critique, and help move the creative process forward.
Key responsibilities
- Help design and build new gameplay features and systems for live and upcoming products.
- Develop several concept options, then compare the strengths, risks, and trade-offs of each.
- Collect references and carry out research to support design decisions, including market trends, innovations, and historical or cultural context where relevant to the game world or story.
- Test gameplay content during development and share practical feedback.
- Keep design documents accurate, current, and well organized.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant is either currently studying Game Design or has recently completed a course in the field. A solid grasp of core game design principles and an understanding of what makes games engaging is important, along with a basic familiarity with standard game technologies, production workflows, and software development.
You should have a strong interest in mobile games, be comfortable working with others, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English. The company is specifically looking for someone who lives in Berlin; this role is not remote.
