Role overview
A furniture restoration business is looking for an experienced Furniture Technician / Upholsterer to support its continued expansion across the UK, Scotland, and Ireland. The role focuses on in-home inspection, repair, and restoration work, with a strong emphasis on quality service, technical skill, and customer care.
What the role involves
- Assessing upholstery and furniture items at customers’ homes and carrying out repairs where needed.
- Preparing clear written reports for both the business and its clients.
- Setting realistic expectations with customers and sharing guidance on product care and maintenance.
- Delivering a professional, friendly service that builds strong customer relationships.
Experience and background needed
The employer is seeking someone with substantial hands-on experience in domestic upholstery, furniture repair, furniture production, or restoration methods. Suitable backgrounds may also include French polishing, furniture spraying, or broader modern furniture manufacturing and restoration work.
Additional pay and working conditions
- Base salary starts at £33,600 per year.
- Estimated total annual earnings are around £37,500 to £41,370+.
- Weekend overtime is paid at £220 per day.
- One in three Saturdays or Sundays is required, with extra weekend opportunities available at the higher overtime rate.
- Performance-related bonus of up to £300 per month.
