Job description

About the role

Goodstart Early Learning is looking for a full-time Funding and Grants Administrator based in Murarrie, Queensland. In this position, you will support the Centre Support Team in strengthening high-quality early learning services and helping ensure children receive the best possible start in life.

The role is centred on managing State Government Kindergarten initiatives and grants across the full funding cycle, from submitting applications through to final acquittal. You will play an important part in making sure funding is handled efficiently, accurately, and in line with all program requirements.

Key responsibilities

You will oversee the monitoring and evaluation of grant-funded programs, manage acquittals, and maintain detailed master records. The job also involves preparing budgets, completing reporting obligations, identifying new funding opportunities, drafting business cases, and supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of grants.

In addition, you will ensure compliance with funding guidelines, help manage audit requirements, keep stakeholders informed, build working relationships with government representatives, and partner with teams across the organisation to support funding submissions and kindergarten outcomes.

What the organisation offers

  • Flexible work arrangements, subject to management approval, to help balance work and personal commitments
  • Salary packaging options that may reduce taxable income and improve take-home pay
  • Discounted childcare of up to 15%
  • Access to Fitness Passport for reduced-rate gym and pool memberships for you and your family
  • Discounted health cover and access to an employee wellbeing program with BUPA
  • Special offers on travel, gym memberships, Apple products, Dell products, and more
  • A free annual flu vaccination, if you choose to take it
  • The option to buy additional leave for better work-life balance
  • First Nations support and cultural leave
  • The opportunity to join an organisation aiming for global recognition in early years practice and learning outcomes
  • Strong investment in growth and development through tools, training, experiences, and support that improve outcomes for children in their early years

Candidate profile

You should bring prior experience preparing applications for government grants, or practical knowledge of grant administration systems and processes. A sound understanding of budgeting and financial management is important, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal candidate will be confident in relationship building, skilled in Microsoft Office applications, and capable of managing time and priorities effectively. Experience in an early childhood environment is considered an advantage. A current Working with Children Check for the relevant state or territory is required.

Applications are reviewed as they are received, so early submission is encouraged for the best chance of progressing. For questions, the Talent Acquisition Team can be contacted by email at recruitment@goodstart.org.au.
