Job description
Role Overview
This senior leadership position is focused on shaping and managing the group’s capital structure while driving complex funding and treasury programs. The role is accountable for balancing debt and equity in the most effective way, delivering economical financing solutions, and coordinating capital-related transactions tied to projects, acquisitions, and wider corporate priorities.
You will need to bring strong leadership capability, advanced knowledge of structured finance, and the ability to handle large-scale funding deals in partnership with internal teams and external financial partners.
Capital Structure Strategy
- Define and implement the group’s capital structure approach to maintain an effective mix of debt and equity.
- Support actions that lower the cost of capital and improve overall financial resilience.
- Evaluate and advise on financing approaches for investments, projects, and acquisitions across the group.
Funding and Transaction Execution
- Manage the full lifecycle of debt and equity financing transactions.
- Draft, assess, and refine core financing materials such as teasers, term sheets, and financial models.
- Oversee the completion of debt issuances, refinancing, restructuring, and equity fundraising activities.
- Track and close all conditions precedent and other closing items needed for funding deals.
Debt Portfolio Management
- Administer and improve the group’s debt profile through refinancing, reprofiling, and restructuring opportunities.
- Find ways to enhance funding terms and reduce the total cost of borrowing.
Treasury Projects and Delivery
- Direct treasury-related capital initiatives and ensure they are delivered on schedule and within budget.
- Work across functions to monitor progress, clear delays, and keep funding programs on track.
Financial Analysis and Risk
- Build sophisticated financial models to test funding structures and scenario outcomes.
- Assess risks linked to financing choices and capital allocation decisions.
Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead, coach, and strengthen a high-performing team focused on capital transactions and treasury execution.
- Engage with banks, investors, and advisors to secure the best possible financing outcomes.
- Coordinate closely with internal partners in finance, legal, strategy, and project functions.
Skills and Knowledge
Strong command of debt and equity financing structures is essential, along with practical experience in debt restructuring, reprofiling, and capital optimization. The role also calls for advanced financial modelling and valuation skills, a solid grasp of transaction execution and closing processes, and working knowledge of financial systems and tools, with SAP preferred. Strong risk management and cost optimization capabilities are required, and familiarity with AI and digital finance tools will be considered an advantage.
Experience Requirements
The position calls for at least 20 years of experience in finance or treasury functions, including a minimum of 15 years in leadership or senior management roles. Prior GCC experience of at least 5 years is preferred.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certification such as ACCA or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
