Job description

Role Overview

Applicants must be residing in Ireland. Attendance at the office is necessary once per month. The Fund Accounting Manager will oversee daily operations related to NAV production for a portfolio of hedge fund clients. This role involves leading and mentoring fund accounting team members, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables, and promoting a culture of high performance. Collaboration with senior stakeholders is crucial, along with focusing on process enhancements, client relationship management, and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide a team of fund accountants by providing oversight, direction, and mentorship.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring service delivery meets agreed standards.
  • Review and formally approve daily and monthly NAV calculations.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of reconciliation discrepancies, aged issues, and complex inquiries.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients and managing fund launch transitions.
  • Audit fee calculations, profit and loss allocations, and fund performance reporting.
  • Coordinate audit activities and aid in financial statement preparation.
  • Collaborate across departments to guarantee seamless service execution.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost operational efficiency.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and development efforts of fund accounting personnel.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of five years’ experience within hedge fund administration, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Engagement or interest in professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, CPA or CIMA is advantageous.
  • Strong expertise in NAV calculations and fund accounting basics.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities managing teams and deadlines under fast-paced conditions.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and standard IT applications.
